On 30 July 2025, the SAIChE Western Cape branch hosted Prof. Dyllon Randall, his presentation entitled:
"Toward Circular Sanitation Systems: Engineering Novel Urine Recycling Systems".
It was well attended and thoroughly enjoyed by all.
The next hybrid meeting to be held by the branch will be the AGM on 10 September 2025 at 18h00.

About our speaker
Lidia Auret is a senior process data scientist (research and training focus) at Stone Three and holds extraordinary/honorary associate professorships at the Departments of Chemical Engineering at Stellenbosch University and the University of Cape Town in South Africa. She served as senior lecturer at Stellenbosch University from 2012 to 2018. From 2019, she served various roles at Stone Three, including manager for the process monitoring business unit. Her research interests include data analytics, machine learning for process monitoring and control in industrial processes. Lidia has authored 40 peer-reviewed publications and supervised 3 PhD and 24 Masters students. She is a member of the Southern African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and an executive committee member of the South African Council for Automation and Control.
